Warehousing Gloves for Repeated Handling.

A picker handles several hundred cartons a shift. The glove is judged on grip retention, fit and how fast it can be replaced, not on the highest cut score in the catalog.

For 3PL operators, retail distribution centers and importers buying gloves by the pallet.

Typical specification

Warehousing & logistics

Coating

PU and foam nitrile

Thin palms keep feel for scanning and labeling

Cut target

A1–A2, A3 where banding appears

Higher levels slow the pick and cost more

Grip

Dry cartons, stretch film

Textured nitrile releases film better

Packing

12 pairs / polybag, bulk carton*

Clip strip and dispenser options for retail

* Typical figure. Confirm against your quotation.

What the job actually demands

Four conditions decide the specification. On a real site they rarely appear alone.

01

Carton abrasion across a full shift

Corrugated board is more abrasive than most datasheets assume. PU is thin enough for feel and survives dry board; nitrile palms last longer where loads are heavier.

02

Stretch film, tape and shrink wrap

Film clings and slips. A textured nitrile palm releases film better than a smooth PU palm, which matters most at the wrapper and the dock.

03

Banding, blades and broken pallets

Strapping and cutter knives sit outside the A1–A2 range. Where they belong to the task, move to A3–A4 or keep a separate cut glove for that task only.

04

Scanning and touchscreens

Handheld scanners and pick-to-light screens need conductive fingertips. Specify touchscreen-compatible fingertips instead of expecting operators to remove a glove twenty times an hour.

Reading the markings. The four digits come from EN 388 — abrasion, cut (coupe), tear and puncture. The letter comes from ISO 13997, which is the method that holds up on hard and abrasive edges. Where both appear, quote both in the brief. How the markings work.

Where this specification usually goes wrong

Three failures that show up on first orders, in the order they cost money.

Over-speccing the cut level

An A4 glove on dry carton work costs more, feels worse and gets replaced at the same rate. Match the level to the load, not to the worst thing in the building.

Losing gloves faster than wearing them out

In high-turnover warehouses, loss dominates. Clip-on retainers, size-labeled bins and a low unit price matter more than a longer-wearing palm.

Sizing by habit

A glove that is too loose snags on cage corners and slows scanning; too tight and it splits at the thumb. Sample three sizes on the actual task before specifying a run.

Gloves that fit this brief

Stock constructions to start a sample from. Each one can be re-specified on liner, coating and packing.

White PU coated work gloves

Light, breathable palm for dry picking, packing and inspection.

EN 388 3X31  ·  13 gauge  ·  Dry grip

Foam nitrile coated work gloves

Palm coating that holds film and damp cartons without bulk.

EN 388 2X42  ·  15 gauge  ·  Film grip

Level A3 cut resistant gloves

Liner for banding, blades and mixed retail loads.

A3 / ISO 13997  ·  HPPE liner  ·  PU or nitrile

Packing & documents

What ships with the carton.

The glove is half the order. The other half is the pack, the marks and the paperwork that let a shipment clear and a reorder repeat.

01

Bulk packing

12 pairs per polybag, size-labeled inner bags inside a master carton.

02

Retail packing

Header card, euro hole and barcode where the glove is sold rather than issued.

03

Replenishment

Standing specification sheet so a reorder matches the approved sample.

04

Market entry

EU: Category II under PPE Regulation 2016/425 with CE marking; UK: UKCA.

The brief

What to send us

Send what you already know. Missing items can be settled during sampling.

  • The load: cartons, film, totes or mixed retail
  • Whether scanners or touchscreens are used
  • Cut level, or the incidents that prompted the review
  • Sizes and the split across shifts
  • Polybag, dispenser or retail header card

Questions buyers ask

Answers we would give on a call, written down.

PU for dry cartons and where feel matters most, foam nitrile where stretch film, damp loads or oil appear. Both are thin enough for scanning; only specific touchscreen builds work on capacitive screens.

Yes, with conductive fingertips specified at sampling stage. Confirm the screen type, because capacitive and resistive screens need different fingertips.

A2 covers most handling; A3 where strapping, blades and broken pallets are part of the task. A dedicated cut glove for the banding station is usually cheaper than raising the level for everyone.

Yes. Size splits are set at order stage, with each size polybagged and labeled inside the master carton.

Send the glove you need.

A product link, a reference photo or a short buying brief is enough to start. Include the quantity, destination and any marking requirement.
