Agricultural Gloves for Wet, Cold and Abrasive Work.

Farm work is wet for hours at a time. Grip under water, not grip on a datasheet, is what keeps a glove on the hand through a shift.

For agricultural distributors, nurseries, growers and importers supplying farm retail.

Typical specification

Agriculture

Coating

Crinkle and foam latex

Keeps grip once the palm is soaked

Cut target

A1–A3, A4 and above for pruning

Thorns cut and puncture together

Grip

Wet, muddy and cold

Latex holds, nitrile foam slips in water

Packing

12 pairs / polybag, header card*

Retail-ready packing for farm stores

* Typical figure. Confirm against your quotation.

What the job actually demands

Four conditions decide the specification. On a real site they rarely appear alone.

01

Wet and muddy handling

A latex palm keeps grip when soaked. Nitrile foam, better in oil, is the weaker choice once the surface is water-wet.

02

Branches, thorns and canes

Puncture and cut arrive together in pruning. A2–A3 with a dense knit handles canes; heavier thorn work needs a coated back as well as a coated palm.

03

Cold store and early harvest

Fleece-lined latex keeps hands usable below 5 °C without changing the palm specification or the grip behavior.

04

Chemical handling and wash-down

Pesticide mixing and equipment wash-down are chemical tasks, not general farm tasks. A standard coated glove is not a chemical glove; use one tested to EN ISO 374-1 at the level the substance requires.

Reading the markings. The four digits come from EN 388 — abrasion, cut (coupe), tear and puncture. The letter comes from ISO 13997, which is the method that holds up on hard and abrasive edges. Where both appear, quote both in the brief. How the markings work.

Where this specification usually goes wrong

Three failures that show up on first orders, in the order they cost money.

Treating a garden glove as a chemical glove

Pesticide concentrates need a glove with a tested permeation level and a defined breakthrough time. If the substance matters, the glove has to be selected against it, not against the word ‘chemical resistant’.

Cold and wet together

Wet hands lose dexterity faster than dry hands at the same temperature. Fleece lining helps, but a dry spare pair mid-shift does more for grip than a heavier coating.

Latex sensitivity in seasonal crews

Seasonal labor turns over quickly and irritation often goes unreported. A nitrile alternative in the same build keeps the specification usable across the crew.

Packing & documents

What ships with the carton.

The glove is half the order. The other half is the pack, the marks and the paperwork that let a shipment clear and a reorder repeat.

01

Retail packing

Header card, euro hole and barcode for farm stores and garden centers.

02

Bulk packing

Polybag and master carton for growers buying by the pallet.

03

Chemical tasks

Separate specification for any glove used with plant protection products.

04

Market entry

EU: Category II under PPE Regulation 2016/425; chemical protection only where tested and marked.

Questions buyers ask

Answers we would give on a call, written down.

Only a glove tested to EN ISO 374-1 with a performance level that matches the substance should be used, and it must be replaced at the stated breakthrough time. A coated work glove is a mechanical glove and should not be used for plant protection products.

Latex for wet and muddy handling, because it keeps grip when soaked. Nitrile where oil or fuel is present, or where a wearer is sensitive to natural rubber latex.

A3 covers most cane and branch work with a dense knit. Thorn-heavy work and saw handling need more, and puncture resistance matters as much as cut resistance here.

Yes. Header cards, euro holes and barcodes are part of the artwork stage, with a printed proof approved before production.

Send the glove you need.

A product link, a reference photo or a short buying brief is enough to start. Include the quantity, destination and any marking requirement.
